Healing Artist | Massage Therapist | Wellness Guide
My name is Kimberly Christine, and I’d love to let you in on a few of my secrets — who I am, how I got here, and what I can do for you.
As an only child raised by a single parent, I was always a little rebellious with a big imagination. I grew up dancing, singing, writing, and reinventing myself regularly. A true Northern Lake girl from Duluth, Minnesota — part Forest Faerie, part animal lover, part artist, and always a healer at heart.
The Long Road to Here
After high school, I attended Beauty College and spent four years as a Cosmetologist back when hair and skincare were still one world. But something was missing. I craved more, so I enrolled at UWS to study Marine Biology — because obviously, becoming a Mermaid was a completely reasonable life goal. My background in hair and makeup eventually pulled me into Theatre, and one thing led to another until I packed up and moved to California, ultimately earning a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre & Film.
It was either L.A. or… Vegas, Baby.
I spent eight incredible years with Cirque Du Soleil and three years with Blue Man Group in Las Vegas, working in wardrobe and makeup. It was a dream — until overuse injuries from a stitching promotion stopped me in my tracks. That painful detour led me straight to yoga, meditation, and alternative healing modalities. And then I met my husband from India, and everything changed.
Captivated by the color, movement, and soul of Bollywood, I created Fundoo Fitness in 2009 — a Bollywood-inspired fitness program to help people shake off the stress of everyday life. I became a certified personal coach, a Group X Instructor for Bombay Jam Bollywood Fitness, and studied with Hemalayaa Behl for a combined Yoga & Indian Dance Certificate.
Over six separate trips to India, I immersed myself in Reiki, Ayurveda, Face Yoga, Classical Indian Dance, cooking, and martial arts. It was life-altering, eye-opening, and I have so much still to share from those experiences.
Time in Los Angeles and Savannah, Georgia added even more texture to my journey — including the beginning of a paranormal fascination (since 2013) that eventually became three haunted tours I created in Hollywood, Lake Havasu and now, Duluth Ghost Tours.
Becoming a Massage Therapist
In 2017, after a significant life transition, I relocated to Lake Havasu City, Arizona and went back to school — yes, again — this time as a Licensed Massage Therapist. I needed a skill that would travel with me and actually pay the bills. I also earned my Animal Massage Therapy Certification from Ojai, CA. while I was at it. After graduation, I worked at a spa and was invited to teach at Charles of Italy School of Massage, then eventually found my own space to practice and called it Lacuna!
Then COVID arrived and the center I rented from closed permanently. Rather than quit, I pivoted to a successful mobile massage business for two years before deciding in 2022 to move back to Minnesota — back to the seasons, back to family, and back to my roots.
I opened my own spa in Cloquet, bringing every talent I had gathered back Up North. After two years, life called me into Duluth for a larger community and fresh start. I worked for a chiropractor, provided hospice massage, and most recently at a lovely spa in Canal Park — until it closed in November 2025.
A New Chapter in Old Stomping Grounds
Facing an unexpected crossroads, I’ll be honest — I wondered if my massage career was behind me. Three long, uncertain months of rebuilding online businesses, hospice caregiving and then grieving the loss of my senior cat, and searching for what came next. Then I found it: a space inside Doc’s Gym in Superior, Wisconsin — just three miles from home, in a city full of history and familiar faces.
So, I applied for, tested and got my Wisconsin massage license, and here we are 🙂
Lacuna Massage is open again. And this time, it truly feels like coming home.
What You Can Expect
This isn’t just a massage page. You’ll get a full view into holistic health through a lens built from decades of hands-on experience across wellness, movement, culture, and healing arts. Bodywork, better habits, mental health, nutrition, movement — and maybe even some Fundoo Bollywood Dance classes making a comeback.
(If that last one excites you, drop a 💃 in the comments!)
I’m Kimberly Christine. I’ve traveled far, lived fully, and landed right back where I belong — ready to take care of you. Well, not like in the babysitter fashion 🙂
